What to Ask Before Hiring an Electrician or Maintenance Company in Dubai
Practical questions to ask before you hire someone for electrical or maintenance work at home, so you know what to expect before work begins.

Quick answer
Before hiring, ask what is included in the quote, whether the cause of the problem will be explained, who will do the work, how your property will be protected, what happens if the problem returns, and whether building approval is needed. A good company will answer these clearly before starting.
Questions worth asking
- What exactly is included in the quotation: labour, materials, removal of old fittings?
- Will you explain what caused the problem, not just fix the symptom?
- Who will carry out the work, and will they be the person I speak to on the day?
- How will floors and furniture be protected, and who cleans up afterwards?
- If the same issue comes back, what happens?
- Does my building require approval or a permit for this work?
Send photos first
For many small jobs, a few clear photos or a short video help a company understand the work before visiting. It also gives you a chance to see how they communicate: whether they ask sensible questions and explain things clearly.
Be cautious of
- Prices given without any understanding of the job.
- Pressure to decide immediately.
- Work that starts before the scope has been agreed.
- Reluctance to explain what was done.
Our approach
At Hadi Electrical and Home Maintenance Services, we talk through the job first, explain what we find and agree the work with you before we proceed. If you have a job in mind, send us the details and a few photos.
Frequently asked questions
Should I get more than one quote?
For larger jobs, comparing quotes is sensible. Compare what is included, not just the price. Materials, finishing and clean-up can differ a lot.
Do I need building management approval for electrical work?
Some buildings require it, particularly for work affecting common areas or main supply. Check with your building management before work starts.
This article is general guidance. For anything involving electrical work, isolate the circuit and contact a qualified electrician. In an emergency, call Dubai Civil Defence on 997.
