DB dressing and distribution board work in Dubai
Overview
DB dressing means arranging and finishing the cables inside a distribution board (DB) so they are neat, properly terminated and clearly labelled. A dressed board is easier to inspect, safer to work on and much quicker to fault-find.
Many boards end up crowded over the years, with cables crossing each other, loose terminals and circuit labels that no longer match. When a breaker trips, nobody can tell which circuit it belongs to.
We take the board through step by step: isolating safely, organising and securing the cables, checking and tightening terminations, and labelling every circuit so you know exactly what each breaker controls.
Common problems
Unlabelled or wrongly labelled boards make every fault slower to fix and can be dangerous. We trace each circuit and label the board properly.
Tangled cables make it hard to see problems and easy to disturb connections. Dressing the board organises the cables so each one can be followed.
Heat at the board often comes from a loose connection or an overloaded circuit. Switch off if it is safe to do so and have it checked, as loose terminals can overheat.
A tidy, labelled board makes a good impression and helps the next occupant. It is a common item on handover and snag lists.
How we work
The distribution board is the heart of the electrical installation. Loose terminals can overheat and messy wiring hides problems. A properly dressed and labelled board is safer, makes faults quicker to find, and shows the installation has been looked after.
We look at the board, agree the scope and arrange a time when the power can be switched off.
The board is isolated and checked as dead before any work begins.
Cables are dressed, terminals tightened and every circuit traced and labelled.
Covers are refitted, the board is tested on, and we explain the labelled chart to you.

It is the work of organising, securing and terminating the cables inside a distribution board neatly, and labelling each circuit, so the board is safe, tidy and easy to work on.
Yes. The board needs to be switched off while we work on it. We agree the timing with you in advance so you can plan around it.
If we find breakers or RCDs that are damaged or not suitable, we will tell you and explain the options. For some upgrades, building or authority approval may be needed.
Missing or wrong labels, breakers that trip often, warm or buzzing breakers, scorch marks or a crowded tangle of cables are all good reasons to have it checked.
